Frequently Asked Questions

So, you have had a look at the site, love the prices and are keen to give it a go? Well if you still have some more questions, we have answered our most common ones here.

This is an easy question to answer. We strive for perfection in every aspect of our business and pride ourselves on providing that little bit extra in all circumstances. We make sure that you get what you pay for and more, and that is why our customers keep coming back.

You will receive individual attention and expert advice and your best interests are always put first. We understand the importance of creating a high quality, personal work of art at the right price. Each print is different and we strongly believe that each photograph that goes onto canvas needs a specialised 'human eye' to look over it.

We have been printing photos onto canvas for over 20 years now and love what we do, and know you will too.

So why not become another one of our thousands of extremely satisfied customers today!

Yes! You read it correctly, we will pay for all of the freight within New Zealand. We use NZ Post for our deliveries, which means that we can also deliver to rural and PO Boxes. All of our deliveries are tracked.

Because the freight is included in the pricing, this means that there are no hidden costs with our service. The price on the website is the price you will pay.

If you are not in New Zealand, we can also send internationally. Shipping costs depend on where you are, and the size of your order. Please contact us for a quote.

Our aim is to have the print delivered to your door within 10 working days of the order being confirmed and payment received. If you have a specific date that you need the print by, we will do our best to meet your timeframe.

Before we carry out any printing we will email you a proof to make sure that you are happy with the way the picture will look on canvas. You would be surprised at the number of people who change their mind on size, or cropping after seeing a proof.

During this process we also check the quality of the image to make sure that it enlarges well to the size that you are looking for.

Once the order is confirmed, we will send you an invoice with the payment options. Our most popular method of payment is direct credit, but we can send a secure link if you would prefer to pay by credit card.

We don’t take payment during the order process on the website as we find that people will often change the size once they have seen the proofs, so this is why we send an invoice once the proofs are confirmed.

We are happy to look at enhancements for your photographs, so let us know what you are after. Depending on the amount of time spent, there may be an additional charge for this service, however any cropping and/or minor alterations will be free of charge with your order.

We work with all types of photographs, and you will struggle to find one that won't look fantastic on Canvas!

Canvas Printing

We print on an Epson SureColor S80600 using genuine Epson pigment based solvent inks. We chose to switch to solvent based inks as it eliminated the need to laminate the canvases after printing. The printer has 9 ink colours including both a black and a light black for a great colour range.

Canvas Stretching

We now have a stretching machine- after hand stretching for over 10 years! Which has allowed us to speed up our process. The canvases are stretched over a 32mm, high quality, kiln dried NZ Pine frame giving it a great 3D look. All of our frames are made in house, which means that we can easily create a custom size if you need something that isn’t on our standard list.

Canvas Back

Your canvas comes ready to hang out of the box with a saw-tooth hanger attached. We also tape the backs of the canvas for a clean finish.

Canvas is arguably the most important aspect of the print and we take it very seriously.

We have used Breathing Color canvas from the US for years now. We love it because it is independently certified to be 100+ years archival so your print will last for a lifetime without fading (as long as it is displayed out of direct sunlight). It has been specially designed to work with our solvent inks and is OBA free so the canvas won’t yellow over time.

The canvas is a cotton/poly blend and is 400 GSM so a thicker weight. We use a gloss finish which makes the colours pop and it has a lovely texture.

Do you have 'Economy' Canvas?

No we don't, basically because it is rubbish! We only use high quality canvas, and are not comfortable printing your photos on anything else, so we don’t offer a choice in canvas.

Not only are the economy canvases paper thin, they are a chemical smorgasbord containing optical brightener additives and fluorescent whitening agents. And even more importantly, they will not stand the test of time, and will yellow!

Purchasing a Canvas Print is an investment, and should be treated as such. You don't want to spend more than is required, and on the other hand you want to make sure that you are getting the best possible return on your dollar.

We have invested thousands of dollars and many hours in colour management. Why, because we believe it to be very important. We want to ensure that the colours in our prints are not only vibrant, but also accurate.

When you submit anything for us to print, please make sure that you are the person who has produced the photograph or artwork, or that you have permission to reproduce it. Please do not be offended if we ask you to verify the copyright on a photograph or artwork.

Please note

If you have purchased photos from a photographer, you might not automatically have the right to reproduce the photo as they sometimes retain copyright over the pictures. So just make sure that the package you have purchased comes with the rights to reproduce. If you have a physical photograph with a copyright note on the back then unfortunately we are unable to print from it.

We will not do anything with your print other than print it for you. We will never use or sell your photographs without your express permission.

We do store your files in case you would like additional copies of your print in the future, but can delete them if required.
